Jill M. Leafstedt, Ph.D.
Hello Everyone and welcome to Univ 349 at CSU Channel Islands. I am so excited to have the opportunity to work with you this semester. I have been a professor at CI since 2002, yep that is a long time. I have had the pleasure of working in our School of Education until recently when I moved to Technology and Communication. Prior to coming to CI I was a special education teacher. Working with students is my passion and seeing students succeed in their college careers is what keeps me coming to work everyday. I hope that through this class Michelle and I can help make the transition to CI a successful one for you. I look forward to meeting each and every one of you.
Welcome! I’m very excited to teach this class with Jill and get to know each of you. I have been teaching at community colleges in California since 2002. Originally, I was an art history instructor, but soon fell deeply in love with emerging technologies and exploring the potential they hold for higher education, particularly blended and online learning. In addition to teaching this class, I’m employed at CI as a Teaching & Learning Innovation Specialist and I’m working on the second edition of my book, Best Practices for Teaching with Emerging Technologies. You’ll be getting to know me primarily through technology, as I will be teaching this class remotely. Don’t hesitate to reach out to me any time via email, Twitter, Skype or book a time on my calendar.
Hello my name is a Katelynn Crook. I am in my senior year here at CSUCI and was a transfer student just like all of you. I am a psychology major and am currently working with the Dr. Virgil Adams, Department Head of the Psychology Department, on his research in Hope Theory. I am originally from Boston, Massachusetts and moved here five years ago. I look forward to working with you all!
